It’s a boys’ Halloween weekend in upstate New York, at Scare-a-Con 2013. In a coffee-infused twist of fate, Brad Mavin crossed paths with Deadly Grounds Coffee for the first time. A lifelong coffee fiend, Brad couldn’t resist their wickedly delicious brews. It was love at first sip, and he knew then and there that he had to bring this caffeinated revolution to Canada.
Fast forward a few years, and Deadly Grounds Coffee Canada was born! While we originally borrowed the Deadly Grounds name from the U.S., our company has always been proudly Canadian—our coffee has been roasted, packaged, and brewed in Canada since day one. The only thing we ever shared with the U.S. was the name. Every bag of coffee, every eerie blend, and every spooky sip has been crafted right here at home.
But Brad couldn’t embark on this deadly journey alone. Enter Arielle Burton, another fearless soul with a taste for the unconventional. With Brad’s insatiable coffee cravings and Arielle’s sprinkle of madness, they became a more potent duo than a double espresso shot.
Over the years, our growing team has evolved into a unique crew of talented roastmasters, skilled baristas, and passionate lovers of all things spooky. Now, as Coffin Creek Coffee Co., we remain dedicated to one wickedly wonderful goal: delivering the most flavorful, spine-tingling coffee experience of your afterlife.

For over a decade, we’ve built Canada’s most devoted community of horror and coffee lovers. While we once borrowed the Deadly Grounds name from the U.S., our company has always been 100% Canadian—from roasting and packaging to every last terrifyingly good cup poured. The only thing we ever shared with the U.S. was the name.
Now, as we expand and prepare to franchise across Canada, it’s time for a name that is truly ours. One that embraces our dark roots, our horror heritage, and our vision for the future.
